While still taxing on the runway, a passenger got up and began removing luggage from an overhead compartment – ignoring Slater’s instructions to remain seated. As Slater approached the passenger, he was “struck in the head” by the luggage

After exchanging words with the passenger, Slater went on the intercom & said, “To the passanger who called me a Motherfucker, fuck you, after doing this for 28 years I quit”. He calmly went to the back, and gathered some beers from a cart

Now when someone quits their job in dramatic fashion…
People will shout, “You’ve been Slated!”, or “You’re a master Slater!”
He’s now “Off duty”. Ha, I said doody…
