This was a historic night! Chicago hasn’t been a part of politics on the national stage like this since…<\/p>\n

We are now mutha truckers! The city was electric last night. Streets swamped. Cars honking, people smiling, laughing, cheering each other on. Everyone was informed, engaged, and happy…<\/p>\n

It was as if the entire world united, and our accessible social city in grant park hosted the soiree. When we got home, I turned on the TV, listened closely to Obama’s speech again, and softly wept…<\/p>\n

They were tears of joy. We are not broken. We are not alone. We stand together…<\/p>\n

We have massive work to undo the shit we’re currently in, and we’ll make mistakes. The road is long and uphill, but our best days are ahead because we’ll do it together. As I crawled into bed with Sonja, snuggled up close to her, my mind drifted to our niece Skylar. She’s growing up in an better America today because great people dare to dream. I’ll never let her forget it…<\/p>\n
