It’s their new slogan. They were going go with either “Proposition 8-We Got Your Rights Right Here”, or “Proposition 8-Fu$k Off Fags”. The last one’s catchy. It sounds more like what they want to say…<\/p>\n

The state Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that California voters had the authority to pass a constitutional amendment Proposition 8 that declared, “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California”. However, they agreed to uphold the marriages that were performed…<\/p>\n

It’s pretty simple. When do people give two flying shits about anyone’s relationship when it breaks no laws? When it’s a minority group, who some zealots find morally objectionable, and seek to morally control it. Take religion and god out of the equation for a moment. People who agree with prop 8 are basically saying, “You have equal rights and equal under the protection under the law, except here”. Why?<\/p>\n

That’s something prop 8 proponents can’t seem to answer. You’ll get a muddled “It’s unnatural”, “You can’t just change a definition because you want”, or “God doesn’t think it’s normal”. That’s because they have no answer in denying equal rights under law. Even the most “tolerant” are offering a modern version of “Separate but equal” like the civil rights movement with “Civil Unions”…<\/p>\n

Look prop 8 proponents. You have to prove to me you’re not<\/em> a bigot 1st. If you can do that, then we’ll chalk it up to you being uninformed of the basic constitutional rights of every American…<\/p>\n
